BCWF x Silvercore: Online CORE Hunter Education
Silvercore and the BC Wildlife Federation partner on CORE hunter education in British Columbia. The BCWF administers the CORE program on behalf of the Province, and Silvercore delivers BCWF-approved CORE training: in-person courses, exam challenges, and the online CORE course available through bcwf.coretmr.ca.
What the Online CORE Course Is
The online course covers the theoretical portion of the BC CORE program: hunting regulations, conservation and ethics, animal identification, firearms safety, and the material the written exam draws from. It was designed by experienced CORE instructors, you can retake lessons and quizzes as often as you like, and it is the only BCWF online training course that includes the mandatory $30 student graduation certificate required for your FWID. Online, In Person, or Challenge the Exam
Online or in person, the destination is the same: pass the CORE exams, get the hunter education credential on your Fish and Wildlife ID, and buy your BC hunting licence. The online course prepares you for the written exam at your own pace. The in-person course puts you in a room with an instructor for two days and includes the exams. If you already know the material, an exam challenge is the shortest path.
